Sierra MatchKing bullets have very thin jackets and are held to exacting tolerances in diameter and weight. The 30 caliber 210 grain HPBT bullet was created in response to the increasing demands of long range shooters. With its drag minimizing design, this bullet is a popular choice with 1000 yard shooters. Keeping the long-range design in mind, Sierra built this bullet with a longer ogive, smaller meplat and improved boat tail to preserve downrange efficiency, enhance accuracy, and reduce wind-drift. This is not loaded ammunition.
While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.
