The 6.5 mm Creedmoor 135 Grain Classic Hunter round is designed for hunters that want to take full advantage of the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge for hunting in a magazine fed gas gun or factory class hunting rifle. While the 6.5 mm Creedmoor was originally made famous by competitive precision rifle shooters, hunters quickly adopted the cartridge. This cartridge is able to shoot bullets that are ballisticially comparable to heavier calibers, but at higher velocities and with reduced recoil, giving small to medium game hunters a distinct advantage.
Berger’s 6.5 mm 135 Grain Classic Hunter bullet was built with that same mind set of getting the best of both worlds. Classic hunter bullets utilize an industry-leading hybrid ogive design, which blends a tangent and secant design to optimize efficiency and reduce wind-drift, giving it a clear advantage against other bullets in its weight class. They are built around a J4 Precision Hunting Jacket, which allows for rapid expansion on game animals. Classic Hunters are designed to penetrate 2-3″ and then begin to expand and create a massive wound cavity up to 15″. The hydrostatic shock causes most animals to drop immediately.
We load these bullets with Lapua’s top of the line 6.5 mm Creedmoor brass, a temperature stable powder, and match grade primers. By using the same high grade components that long range hunting enthusiasts use in their hand loads, we are able to provide you with ammunition that out performs the competition, especially at longer ranges. If you are looking to get the most out of your 6.5 Creedmoor hunting rifle, this is the ammo for you.
