Product Description

Ulu-style hatchet, 4Cr steel, skeletonized blade, nylon sheath included.

The Inuits and other Alaskan and Canadian Natives know how to take care of game, whether it is caribou, bear, elk or other game animals essential to their culture and survival. The curved blade of the ulu was the result. This ulu-style hatched gives you the chopping power of an attached handle, yet still preserves the traditional grab-through design that makes quick work of removing, cleaning and prepping a skin. Using any ulu style tool is a skill that is good to have in your kit as an experienced outdoors person. Although "lower-48 states" style skinning knives may come more naturally to some of us, the fun of a tool like this is something to learn and to share.
